Our Story

The idea of creating Ultimate MMA came very early 2018.

After our organisers mother sadly passed away 28/12/2017.  “My mum passed away 3 days after Christmas on the 28/12/2017, she had been suffering from a rare lung disease called IPF (idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis) which creates scar tissue on the lungs. I hated seeing my mum struggle during these times and it was once she passed I wanted to do something in memory of my mum and really help others get the support they need while having lung disease, also for anyone with family or caring for someone with lung disease.

When my mum was unwell it made her happy when I would get involved with boxing training again as she knew I loved it, so I thought it’s a perfect idea and would be a nice touch to fundraise in her memory with boxing events. Also gave me the drive to make it a success. If people get behind me on my mission we can really make a difference by raising as much money as possible for British Lung Foundation and hopefully one day there will be a cure.”

We started getting a lot of interest for MMA, and as we are aiming to become the British Lung Foundation‘s biggest fundraisers we thought this would be a great avenue to venture down.
